SPONGE BRICK

I love that spinach color brick. Behold the various muted colors!

DAMAGED LIMESTONE

Pollution and acid rain is slowly corroding the limestone in TGS.

SOOT ON BRICK?

I doubt the black on these bricks is original but it's served to enhance the three dimensional face. I also relish the pebbles in the mortar.
WAVE BRICK

What the hell happened on this building? Located on the corner of 41 Connecticut and Bent, the smaller 'turret' is dwarfed by the massive turret on the West side of the building.

UNBALANCED TURRETS

THE FOUR CORNERS ON JUNIATA AND OAK HILL

I am charmed by this corner: three building with iron columns that bear the weight of the brick that are all different sizes. I love those columns. On the last corner is Horace Mann elementary school.

WHITE GLAZED BRICK W/ BROWN SWIRL

Spotted in BPW where a man demanded to know WTF I was doing taking Pixs of his wall. I hear this about once every few weeks and explained I pix bricks. He wanted to know if they were 'worth anything.'

I said: yes indeed and I would buy all of them for 100.00. He eventually confessed he was only renting and couldn't sell them to me. What a chump.

CORNER OF WHITTIER & COOK
North St. Louis City

This photo was sent to me by my neighbor Mike G. A burned out mansion with columns supporting a turret. Looks like the original slate tile roof. What a tragedy.

TERRA COTTA URN

Gravois Park. Urn is resting above rowlock bricks (laid on their edge).

FROM THE BRICK FAIRY

This brick was a gift from Charlene Earlywine who also collects bricks here in TGS. We were acquainted with each other for some time before discovering our mutual interest.

ROSE FANNING GRADE SCHOOL - TGS

Brick School in TGS and Hydraulic Paver brick street. Architect: William B. Ittner. I attended kindergarten here.

BRICK PAVERS - Gravois Park

Buried beneath the asphalt on St. Louis streets and alleys are brick pavers that were manufactured by the Hydraulic Brick company owned and operated by T. S. Eliot's dad.

HYDRAULIC
CURVED (INTO ROUND) BRICK COLUMN

This column, with it's twin leaf capital, needs an encore.
