The AirBnB

For 2 years we were a hotel, an AirBnB with a cast of characters. We met some wonderful people and some profound addicts.
These photos (I'm cleaning up files) are from our second floor with its original 1913 built ins.
The front balcony was an flower and herb garden (It's now one of our veggie garden during warm months). We included photos of the neighborhood and surrounding area in our listing.
Along the way, I added a boutique with all proceeds benefitting the ACLU.
The space was a great gallery.
There's the backyard tea house that I designed.
A rando gate photo.
The back porch had its own flower garden and was a favorite room of warm weather visitors.
I made all of the birdbaths and votive holders in the photos. Many of the prints and paintings are mine.

Walkabout

My 80s day job was in the Shoe Industry - back when the US had industry - until one of the buyer's noticed the belts I was making and wearing to work.
I was ushered into the Design Dept. My designs were also sold to Captiva and Streets Ahead.
I continue to love shoes :) And those silver glittery loafers, well.

Ikebana

Hyper rare 50s vase with min blowing Ikebana applications.
Being obsessed with the number 3 I've been practicing Ikebana for decades.
Three is the Lucky Prime in math theory.

Iris. 2018

Two psychotic pussy 'neighbors' have been coming over the fence and stealing our yard plants for years.
Sadly for them and yet hilarious for me is that we have 8 exterior cameras that have filmed their poaching.
I'm sittin on hours of video waiting for them to buy the video :) I'm not interested in pursuing the thefts legally, I am looking forward to the public shaming on the neighborhood fb group.

Red Imperial Carnival Glass

VERY rare.
I find these pieces in The Wild. The most I've ever spent on a platter was 9.99. Sold for $275. That iridescent glaze reflects bent light onto our ceiling :)

Found in The Wild

Last week I scored this stunning Empoli glass table lamp. Mass manufactured in the 50s to 60s and imported from Italy.
This baby is getting a new/old parchment shade next week. There's a seller on Etsy making 50s shades and they are killer.
Found near a 60s Silver ombre Queen's Lusterware barware set in unsued condition. Chrome caddy.

Guinea Hens in The Big Freeze of Feb 2021

From a friend in St Joe MO.
I keep telling her they look pissed and that she should let them inside but NO! This is stalking via the window sill. Mega Stick Eye!
Not my photo.

The Orry-Kelly Necktie

I pulled this out of my necktie stash one day and fainted dead away after seeing Orry-Kelly on its back. WHere did I find it? I don't recall. But I can guarantee this is the only Orry-Kelly that was left in the world. he had won three Academy Awards for Best Costume Design and was an early lover of Gary Grant.
I way underpriced this necktie at $300 so someone deserving could buy it.
It went to a man who is on one of the Boards of the Heasrt Mansion.
The things that I find and am able to hold before passing them along.
Over 100 years old, this necktie was made in New York.
