The Huntress - Your Daily Golden Moment
Hey everbody!
Guess what!?
Late last night I told my Mah'mm to let me out.
I found a possum!
I snatched that possum from the tree and brought it to the door. I wanted to take it inside to my special place where I eat my treats. My mah'mm opened the door and was yelling at me and wouldn't let me inside. She kept telling me to 'drop it and eventually I did. I left it and was allowed inside.
It played dead and my mom was very scared to open the door thinking it would bolt into the house!
THAT would have been a swell plan for me. Eventually she dropped a mop on it and it bolted. Meanwhile I ran past her back into the yard! I was ripping out all her fencing looking for another possum.
I had to sleep on the floor which was ok because my hips really hurt and I didn't want to jump up into the bed with them.
The End by Tinka Bellie.

St Louis Golden
Number One Daughter and her first encounter with water which was interesting. She couldn't see it but she could smell and hear it. She dipped a paw into what she deduced was there.

Ken and Glenda were our favorite AirBnB guests.
Ken also made for me pretty portraits of Bellie (below).

On the Street Where I Live - St Louis Brick
"I have often walked down this street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
All at once am I several stories high
Knowing I'm on the street where you live"

I hate this House
Talk about tiny houses!
I spotted this house years ago while dining in SOHA.
Visually, it was very upsetting to me. The person I was dining with was surprised at my agitation.
I am claustrophobic, I had ecxplained. Not only is this house tiny (810 ft) but most of its light source is from the four, tiny, BLACK stain glass windows on its east side. No windows on the weast side of course which is what, 2.5 feet from the house next to it?
Sure, there's windows in the south facing front but if you're home on a rainy day?

Don't Cry for Me, Juniata! Gentrification in Tower Grove South, St Louis
Five years ago, the 2 four unit apartment buildings to the east of us were redeveloped into 'townhouses'. A total of eight units which were 2 Section 8 buildings, became 4 condos. Seen below, the buildings are twins. The front bottom windows don't open.
My displaced neighbors were scattered.
Three years ago the two unit (two family) Section 8 building, also to the east of us, was rehabbed and went on the market for 415K. It sold in ten days for 410K.
It went back on the market this spring. The owner was asking 475K and it sold the same day for 525K. (The new owner has said to me, Look, I've raised your property value! Ah, I had replied, the mantra of the yuppie!)
We've lost many friends and neighbors and our block has become increasingly bright white. Many of them display their Black Lives Matter signs.
This summer, 3 other four unit apartment buildings which were also Section 8 housing, sold and are currently under rehab.
Our block used to have 80% black residents. Most were renters with three homes being black owned.
There's goes the neighborhood. Specifically 4200 Juniata.

In the Wild
I've been hitting the thrifts since I as 14.
My first visit to a Goodwill store was so exciting. A collection of previously unseen OLD things! It's where I developed my interests: Archaeology. Design. Textiles. History.
And weirdly fun stuff like this. Ganymede?
