I love this building. Both its design and bricks.
I've been photographing industrial oofices and plants for years. Their designs are compelling while their aluminum window frames were a disater. They weather poorly and rust.
Presenting a collection of St. Louis bricks, sidewalk markers, and the Fleur-de-lis as architectural detail on and in city buildings, brick collecting, urban exploration, and my life by Christian Herman. Reporting from Tower Grove South in St. Louis, MO

Preparing for the Future - Vegetable gardening
Hey, a word.
This blog has evolved into storage space for photos from the past and current life. I still stalk brick. Assuming anyone is reading here's my advice: Learn to make your own soil, learn to garden, learn to can your produce, and save the seeds from what you've grown.
It's best to grow your produce raised well above the ground to prevent rabbits from eaing it. Raised beds arn't enough. I use things I've scored in alleys. Outdoor tables work best. Wood drawers from discarded dressers. Drill them for drainage. Plant seasonal crops: lettuce grows in the spring and fall and can survice in cold weather.
Buy an outdoor composter tumbler on legs. A compost pile on the ground just attracts rodents and requires maintenance.
Composter tumblers are to be placed in full sunlight. They are black to provide extra heat. Make your own soil and always harvest your seeds from what you've raised.

The 6th decade
Ha. I was so skinny my nose looked huge.
Who dressed me that day? That lace collar and those glasses blow! This was just post TKR surgery so my mind was scrambled for a few years. I won't take responsibility for that collar.
I'd just turned 60.
The 6th Decade.
Oh look, it's my beautiful former boi from that decade.
I must make men insecure. They always married the next woman after me.

St Louis Brick Street
Becuase of the heavy passage of cars these Hydraulic Brick pavers show interesting wear. Not breakage but a slow erosion that is beautiful.
Porch Picnic
That time he bought over his homemade pesto and a picnic.
I was always slow to realize men were courting me. Haha.

On not being Lawless
At one time I had a boyfriend with the last name of Lawless.
He was one of many men in my life that thought he wanted to be married to me.
I thought for weeks about being Christian Lawless. That rocked.
Marriage hasn't ever interested me.
Why when the milk was free?

Box of water
WACKY! Found in the Wild this is supposed to be a view of the Falls from your window. So tacky and contrived I thought it was a Spenser's gifts item. Plug it in, it lights up and the Falls 'move'.
And then of couse it sold.

So hot in herre
Direct from my garden feat a rabid heat. I stay 2 feet away from these except when harvesting. Closer contact makes me sneeze.
