She who smelt it dealt it

Obsession # 333

Wensleydale curly locks. Swoon.

My parents wedding. Holy Family Church. 1948

My mom and dad were married in the Holy Family church *rectory*. They wouldn't allow my mom to marry in the church proper because she hadn't been raised catholic even though she had to convert from no faith to marry my dad.

This is Olly. He is the love of Bellie. He cries when he sees her.

Fire Rainbows in East St Louis. 2020

I saw Fire Rainbows in Cirrus clouds.
After 8 minutes of tracking them the fire rainbows disappeared. What a great day!

Vintage Western Germany filigree Pendant

My favorite piece from my extenisve collection which I started at age 14. I was at a store called The Outlet in old, downtown STL when I found this pendant.

New Look Coat

A hyper rare 40s New Look wool Coat by Lassie Junior. TOO fabulous!

Cake Standa

Just one of my delighful obsessions: vintage cake stands. This is a 13" Fenton Hobnail White Milk Glass Pedestal Cake Plate with a ruffle edge. My gawd, the ruffles!

Bakelite

Bakelite is an old love of mine. I've collected bakelite knobs off of tossed TVs in alleys for 5 decades and turned them into drawer pulls. I love the stuff but my attachment has waned.
I mean, there's only so much room in our house.
Just some spacers.

Found in The Wild a few years back.

If you're an Artist

You must study Ikebana which means living sculpture.
You must understand Three and know that Three is the Lucky Prime in math theory.
You must practice Ikebana weekly. If you don't have flowers use fresh cut twigs.
Understand the significance of the container. Understand resonance.
Buy antique Ikebana books (I've a huge collection) and see how the living containers became the arrangement. Modernist Ikebana is mind blowing.
