Monarch on the Buddleja davidii

Vessels

Sometime back in the early 90s I had a vision of these vessels. I was obsessed with the chucks of Dalle de verre glass used in church windows. Requiring technique along with other info, I went to Mithra to discuss my vision with Hank.
You can't do that, said Hank.
I had been wanting to use pottery as the base and build up but Hank insisted it wasn't possible.
I took a glass with him. I thought a foundation class with him would allow me to ideate.
4 months later I went back into the shop with a piece and Hank said, I guess you can do that.

Please note the vintage flash bulb in the second vessel.

The Yard and two custom bee and bird baths

My Iris obsession passed and now it's all about Dahlia.

Bellie: ......Do we have any chews?

Dead but Lit

I was strolling with Belle last night when the clouds parted and tossed a patch of sunlight on this beautifully shaped dead tree and into the street.
Just one of many proofs of my charmed life.

Alley Treasure

30 years ago I was picking up rusted metal objects in the alleys, painting them, adding pearls, stones and making brooches. I employed three sales reps.
One of the Sales Rep, Lisa, had sold my work to every art museum and gallery gift shop in the midwest.
The Walker Museum. Chicago Art Institute. SLAM. ETC.

One day Lisa called to tell me that a Buyer was pissed off at her. Lisa had been explaining how I sourced materials.
If you don't want to tell me, she had said, Don't sit there and make something up!
OK, Lisa, I said, from now tell them it's cast copper.
Also? Raise the price of every piece by $10. She sold everything :)
I kept this piece and have been meaning to rework it for decades.
I love alleys! I found an intact two pane stain glass window last week!

St Francis

The sissy.
Spotted in Maplewood a few years ago.

The Bow

I hate the bow so I flicked my switchblade today and jettisoned.

Pretty Baby

Of all my dogs Bellie is most special and loved due to her circumstances and her kindness.
Hmmm. Spotted a 7th decade selfie in here. I was blowing a kiss to my sister circe 2019.

Blow Me

For B.S.

A friend begged me to not sell it but I already reside in a museum.
